Competition: Champions League Group A

Roma have now lost 5 in a row, including losses against title rivals Inter (0-4), and Juventus (0-2) as well as a 0-1 loss at Stamford Bridge 2 weeks ago, courtesy of a late John Terry header.
In Serie A and the Champions’ League, Roma’s record this season is a woeful 3-1-8, and Luciano Spalletti’s job is hanging by a thread; with just 7 points from their 9 league games, Roma sit just one place above the relegation spots and these are desperate times for the Serie A runners-up.

The prospect of hosting a rampant Chelsea, who have gotten over their home defeat to Liverpool (1-2) by winning their last two comprehensively, at Hull (3-0) and at home to Sunderland (5-0), returning to the top of the Premiership in the process.
Manager Scolari has settled in very well taking 11-3-1 from his first 15 games in charge and his side have been scoring plenty (36) and rarely conceding (just 4 and an incredible 11 clean sheets); those records have been achieved without many of the first team squad, too.
Drogba was given a run-out against Sunderland and he is returning to full fitness, but Anelka should start, following his hat-trick against the North-East club and he has a point to prove; there is healthy competition for places at Chelsea and this is never a bad thing.
Roma have had injury problems of their own but have not coped, particularly without a fully-fit Totti; he has been rushed-back, coming on as a substitute and playing in Roma’s key games in an effort by Spalletti to regain form, but those gambles have backfired so far.
Chelsea have been winning at half-time in 9 of their 11 wins this season, plus Roma have been losing at half-time in their last 4 league fixtures, so the $3.75 at Bet365 for the 2/2 HT/FT may be considered, but with their last meeting two weeks ago being sealed late-on, the fixed odds could be the safer option at $2.20 from Bet365.
