Milan's 1-0 win at home to Napoli at the weekend, courtesy of an own-goal from Denis three minutes from time, gave them their fourth league win on the trot and moved them to top of Serie A.
Since losing their opening two matches in the league, they have sinced won 7 and drawn 1. In the UEFA Cup they progressed after seeing off FC Zurich in the First Round and their last game in the competition was a 3-1 away win at Heerenveen.
Braga, meanwhile, are struggling domestically with only two wins so far in the league and they lie in 9th in the Portugese league.
However, in Europe, they have played 7 (they were involved in the Intertoto Cup) and have won all of them, scoring 17 and conceding 0.

Their last game in the UEFA Cup saw them run out 3-0 winners over Portsmouth at home. The trip to Italy, though, sees them having to step up a level or two to even compete.
Milan have looked tight this season and, despite having Ronaldinho, Kaka and Shevchenko, they haven't scored as frequently as they might have hoped with just 15 goals, but they have kept the opposition's goal tally down.
In their unbeaten run in the league, they have won all five of their games at the San Siro - a turnaround from last season's form, conceding just two goals in the process.
They are heavy favourites to win again on Thursday (around $1.25 with most bookies) and even Braga's European record so far in 2008/09 has failed to lengthen Milan's odds.
With the Portuguese league only 7 games old, it's worth looking at their form last season still.
Braga, who finished 9th in the Portguese league last season, lost 6 away games last year; five of those saw them lose by at least two goals.
Milan have won 7 games at home this season, with four of them seeing them win by two or more goals.
With the home win at $1.25, the Handicap win (Milan -1 goal) at $1.80 is fairly tempting but perhaps not enough to take on with a large stake.
