After a nightmare start to their season, going 0-1 down away to Arsenal within 4 minutes, West Brom did well to limit Arsenal to the one goal, with the hosts not having too many clear cut chances after their opening goal.
Against Everton and at home, West Brom should be able to show their attacking capabilities much more on Saturday; they started well at home last season in the Championship, recording 4 successive home wins and were not beaten at home until December.
Everton threw away a 2-1 lead at home to Blackburn in their opening game of the season last week, eventually losing 2-3.

They were totally outplayed in the first half, but Mikael Arteta almost single-handedly wrestled the game back for the Toffees, scoring a free kick and creating Yakubu’s 64th minute goal before Blackburn came back into the game, eventually winning in the last minute.
Though Arteta can turn a game, he is Everton’s only quality threat from midfield, with Cahill out, and if West Brom can neutralise him, Everton will struggle to create chances.
Everton’s small squad size is becoming a serious problem for David Moyes; inexperienced youngsters Jose Baxter (16) and Jack Rodwell (17) were selected last week and didn’t help matters.
In these sides’ last 3 meetings since 2005, West Brom have won 2 and drawn 1 and their solid record against Everton can continue on Saturday.
West Brom can follow up last week’s encouraging performance with a win in their opening home fixture, against an Everton side that is not up to scratch yet and will be reeling after their poor performance last week.
