Premiership league table
Everton and Middlesbrough have both gone 4 games unbeaten and both sides have enjoyed their fair share of fortune; Everton have won the last 3 games in a row, each game stolen towards the end, while Boro were gifted two goals at Villa last week to win the game 2-1.
Middlesbrough have improved after a poor start to the season when they lost 4 out of their opening 6 games; they have 3-2-1 from their last 6 games and have a decent 17 points from their 12 games in total.

Since taking their first away victory of 2008 at Wigan (1-0) at the start of last month, they have taken a draw at Blackburn (in which they conceded an injury-time equaliser) and a win at Villa (2-1) – Everton will be wary of Boro’s new-found away form.
Everton have taken just 5 points from 6 games at home so far this season, but, even though it may have been undeserved, a 1-0 win over Fulham in their last home game may help to turn things around.
Last season, Everton were undefeated at homeagainst the sides outside of the “big four” and while that record has already gone this season, with losses to Portsmouth and Blackburn in August, they are used to picking up points in this fixture; Middlesbrough haven’t won away to Everton in their last 8 attempts in the league (although they won a League Cup tie there in 2005).
There is not a lot of value in their odds of around $1.85, though and it may be worth considering the handicap draw at longer odds; 4 of Everton’s 5 wins this season have been by one goal and 5 out of Boro’s last 6 away losses have also been by the one goal. With this game likely to be close, the handicap draw (Everton -1 goal) at $3.75 from Bet365 looks good.
