PREMIERSHIP TEAM PREVIEWS
FULHAM FC
Coach: Roy Hodgson (Eng)
Formerly in charge of Switzerland, Finland, Blackburn and Inter Milan, Roy Hodgson is a highly experienced and respected manager. On his return to English football at New Year, he did not have an immediate impact with Fulham who looked certain to be relegated come the end of March.
Fulham turned their form around and they sealed their place in the league on the last day of the season in a 1-0 win over Portsmouth.

Good:
Roy Hodgson has brought in some good players in his 8 months in charge at Fulham; Andrew Johnson, Leon Andreasen and Zoltan Gera could all do well this season, but will all need time to settle in.
If Fulham can reproduce the form that they ended the season with, they will be little threat of relegation.
Bad:
Fulham’s away form last year was terrible until the end of March when results changed drastically – if they show the same form this season, another miracle late season escape is going to be hard to achieve again.
With so many new signings, it will be hard for Hodgson’s side to settle down, with so much competition for places; though there has been a major clearout already, more players may have to leave as the squad may be too big.

Star Player:
Andrew Johnson, signing from Everton at around a reported £9 million, will need to score the goals if he is to repay Roy Hodgson’s faith in him. His scoring record was not especially impressive at Everton (17 goals in 61 games), but his teamwork and unselfish play last season for Everton helped strike partner Yakubu no-end.
Fulham, as a club, may suit him more, in terms of goalscoring; at Crystal Palace, he was the main striker and his record was over a goal every other game (74 in 140 apps).

Summary:
Fulham have the quality to be able to gain a mid-table position, but it all depends on how quickly Hodgson’s new signings adapt. If they can pick up a few wins away from home, they should be safe
