Belgium have started their World Cup campaign reasonably well, winning 2 (against Armenia and Estonia) and gaining a decent draw in Turkey (1-1); manager René Vandereycken will be hoping for an improvement on their 5th place in the qualifiers for Euro 2008.

They had a tough group in the Euro qualifiers and managed to gain a respectable 18 points, but they lost key home games against the eventual top two, Poland and Portugal; most of their points were won against the worst sides in the group.

Spain have gone 7 games without conceding and Belgium’s record against the better sides suggests that this superb defensive record will continue for Del Bosque’s side.
