Germany won well against Russia at the weekend (2-1), after only taking a draw against Finland (3-3) in their previous game; that should signal a return to form for Joachim Loew’s side, after thrashing Liechtenstein in their opening qualifier last month.
Yet, while they are expected to win comfortably against Wales (they are an average price of $1.17 to win), Germany may not find it too easy.
Wales have performed poorly in their last few qualifying campaigns, resulting in their lowly FIFA ranking (61st currently), but rarely are they completely outclassed; except their surprising 1-5 home loss to Slovakia at the end of last year, Wales have not lost by more than 2 goals since 2003.

Those losses have included games against top sides in Brazil, Holland, Russia, England and Germany themselves in the last qualifying campaign; in Germany, just 11 months ago, Wales drew 0-0.
However, Germany had already qualified by that point and won 7 out of their first 8 qualifying games; they certainly have the capability to win well against Wales, but Wales’ evident resilience against the best sides could come into play once again.
Wales do not look capable of upsetting the fixed odds again, though and with seemingly not too much going on in the full-time result markets, it may be better to look at other options.
Lukas Podolski scored 9 in Germany’s last qualifiers and though he is still just 23 years old, he already has 31 goals in 58 caps for Germany; he has scored first in 2 of their last 3 games and has 7 goals this calendar year – he could be worth a shout at a smallish stake for the first goalscorer at $4.50 from Stan James.
