Wednesday's Group 2 match-up pits two veteran German coaches against one another; Ottmar Hitzfeld, newly coach of Switzerland against Greece's Otto Rehhagel.

Rehhagel's team have started their campaign very solidly. A 3-0 home win over Moldova last weekend makes it three wins from three games and three clean sheets.

They lie top of the group and both Gekas and Charisteas are on three goals each. However, they've been up against fairly poor opposition so far, so this should be their first big test.

Switzerland won 2-1 against Latvia at the weekend, but look short on confidence. Hitzfeld has picked a largely inexperienced squad with just 3 players having won 44 caps or more.

They needed 63 minutes to break down Latvia and suffered an equalising goal before running out winners. This, though, was better than their last home when they contrived to lose 2-1 to perennial strugglers Luxembourg.

In 2008 qualifying, Greece suffered a 1-4 defeat at home to rivals Turkey, but have been largely successful on their home surface in recent years. In that campaign, they beat all the teams placed 3rd to 5th by a single goal.

Greece are on a roll and have the confidence to take on a Swiss side who are still finding their feet under a new coach.

Switerland lost both their Euro 2008 defeats by the single goal and, since the World Cup 2006, Switzerland have lost 12 games in total. 9 of these were by a single goal.
