Serie A table
Milan drew 1-1 at Lecce last week and are one point behind joint leaders Inter and Juventus. Chievo, meanwhile, started off their first game under new coach Mimmo di Carlo with a home defeat to Juventus.
Milan have shot up Serie A with 7 wins from 9 games, but they haven't always been convincing. In the UEFA Cup, too, they have struggled to take full advantage and it's only a matter of time until that profligacy comes back to haunt them.
They beat Braga 1-0 thanks to a last minute goal from Ronaldinho in the UEFA Cup a week ago and with the draw in Lecce, the lack of sharpness of front, their good form may well be coming to an end.
The return of Shevchenko, who has played intermittently, has so far not resulted in any goals for the Ukrainian and the top scorer, Ronaldinho with 4 in the league, has not been the most reliable of players in the past 12 months.

Of those 7 Milan wins in the league, five have been by the single goal margin and that does leave them open to either misfortune or poor finishing.
Chievo are second bottom of the league and have now lost four in a row, and lost six in seven.
However, the sacking of Beppe Iachini has led to the arrival of Mimmo di Carlo and there is cause for some hope for the Verona club.
The home defeat to Juventus continued their run of defeats, but they were playing against a side who, after their win over Genoa on Thursday, are now on a run of seven wins in a row, including home and away against Real Madrid. Chievo can take some solace from that and the fact that the San Siro is not the fortress it once was for Milan.
Admittedly, Milan have started to win again this season at home (they failed to win half their league games there last year), but with a lack of conviction about them and a Chievo side out to impress their new coach, there does appear to be some value going against the grain with this one.
At Stan James, Chievo are $17.00 to win - this is perhaps only for the brave; instead, the Double Chance is available at $4.33 and with Chievo's best hopes lying perhaps in the draw, this looks a safer call.
